I’m at training at Airbus for the A350. No pics of the factory tour, sorry because it was cool, but I did get a look at the Beluga from the other side of a fence on the street.

In the vernacular, I believe it is called a “plane hole”

I don’t think that’s right. It’s decorated and labelled.

Excuse my curiosity, but that does mean you work (or are going to work) for Airbus?

(If you’d prefer not to answer the question it is perfectly OK too, seriously.)

Yeah, it’s plane hole #3, and it is closed.

May work for Delta airlines. Or something of the nature.

My god, that is one ugly plane.

But I love the fact that it’s functional. They could have spent billions more to make it look better, but it works this way so why bother?

That said, I would have given it a smiley face.

That would appear to Beluga no 3. There are four others, adventurously called 1,2,4 and 5.

Saw a pic this morning of your new 350 in Toulouse with its shiny new livery. Looks nice!

I often look at some planes and wonder “how the f—- does that fly?”

Yep. It is a good looking plane. Plylon has a bunch of titanium in it.

Thanks. Very cool picture of the Beluga, by the way.

If you have the time try to walk around downtown Toulouse, it’s neat.

Note that at some stage you may think you have stepped into a TV commercial for some fancy French parfum ; you’ll find yourself among lots of elegant, graceful Sophie Marceau-clones whizzing along on white bicycles.

Nifty! It is a good looking plane. Conversations with Airbus have been entertaining. Airbus: “the plane is perfect”. Me: “Yeah, but when...”

The amount of titanium used in the pylons is mind blowing.

I hear “perfect” from a lot of 787 people. I think the carbon fiber resin fumes get to them.

The suites look really nice on the Delta A3350! Are they F class only or will J class get these as well?
